ADAMS RIVER FRIDAY AUGUST 24-MONDAY AUGUST 28
If interest contact Phil at 778-871-4873 or email frankierb@telus.net. The Adams trip will e cancelled if no interest by August 10, 2017.
The Adams is suitable for just about any level of paddler who has done basic paddlers and intro to moving water.
Have a look at video on Adams see www.CanoeBC.ca to get an idea. The canyon is big waves but safe to fall in and has large eddy at end and pretty safe.
Directions:
Vancouver-Kamloops after Kamloops continue East on Highway 1 for about 45 minutes until you see the turnoff for Squolax/Anglemont. Take exit and drive for about 10 minutes and road comes to bridge across Adams River. Cross over the bridge you’ll see a parking lot which is the take out and the meeting place each morning at 10 a.m.
Camping:
You must arrange your own camping. There is camping about 3 km down the road from the parking lot take out meeting place. It is a private camping J+G Lewis 1-250-679-4415. It is a large grass area for tent camping but has 2 hookups for trailers. Call them and reserve a spot asap. Not sure of cost but pretty much usual.
Kayaks and canoes.
We’re a cane club so we need canoer’s but kayaks can hang out. So far other than some kayaker no canoer’s have committed themselves to come. If I hear from at least some canoeist by August 10, 2017 it’s a go. Kayaks are welcome to paddle with us but but this is a canoe club so it needs canoeist to go ahead,
