President’s Message | October 2016
Welcome to October
Paddling season is almost over – all except a peaceful paddle on the South Alouette, a fall colours campout on the North Thompson, and the grand finale anything can happen this time of year trip up Widgeon Creek.
Welcome Ryan George
Ryan’s our new newsletter editor. Thank-you Ryan for volunteering to help us. I hope we are giving you enough trip reports, photographs and announcements. If not, we’d better remind people to email their submissions to editor@bevercanoeclub.org . Should we remind everyone that every trip report gets you entered into a draw for a free membership?
Come October 12th, we’ll be busy at our meeting. The toques will be here again for anyone who hasn’t got theirs yet. And tickets to the annual awards dinner will be on sale too.
The Annual Awards Dinner
It’s in November this year. And his year is a special one, a special year. Our 40th year – the ruby jubilee. I’ve heard we’ll be having all the familiar things: photo contest, dumpers awards, door prizes, and appearance of the Great Beaver. And because it’s a special anniversary, we’re having it in our Club’s place of birth, our home town of Burnaby. Tickets will be available on line, and in person at the October 12th meeting.
